SADIQABAD, Dec 6: The posts of district education officers in secondary and elementary schools, Rahim Yar Khan, have been lying vacant for quite a long.
Absence of executives in the department has created a lacuna in various institutions in the district. If posting of competent teachers has been kept delaying, disciplinary problems among students have assumed alarming proportions.
Bahawalpur Teachers’ Associ-ation former office-bearer Rana Muhammad Azam has resented prolonged absence of district education officers, male wing.
He pinpointed that pension papers for several teachers who intended taking retirement, either optional or on superannuation, were lying pending for proper validation.
He urged the Punjab governor and education secretary to authorize the senior most deputy district education officers separately for secondary and elementary institutions so that the pension delays and other administrative aspects could be streamlined at the earliest.
SUI GAS: Residents of Firoza and Pacca Larran have urged the government to ensure supply of sui gas to the twin towns.
They said feasibility survey was conducted some five years ago. The sanction of gas supply was also ordered, however, the plan did not materialize, they added.
They maintained the project was being kept in abeyance even with the change in government.
