Surplus staff not yet absorbed

Published December 7, 2001

MINGORA, Dec 6: The government employees coordination council, district Swat, has criticized the government for its failure to adjust the surplus employees and increase their salaries. It stated the employees would have no other option but to stage protest demonstrations if their problems were not solved.

A statement issued Thursday by the press secretary of the council, Ali Rehman said the employees had been transferred to the surplus pool and their readjustment was pledged, but that was yet to be completed.

He said the prices of the daily-use items were soaring day by day and the employees with their low salaries were unable to meet their needs, saying the salaries should be increased and annual increments given to them.

Ali Rehman said the poor patients were neither given the Eid allowance nor their salaries increased.
