SIALKOT, Dec 6: The Sialkot-based permanent UN observers on Thursday visited the villages affected by the continuous Indian shelling near the working boundary’s Chhumb, Joriyaan, Bajwat and Sucheetgarh sectors.

Official sources said the UN observers again voiced their disquiet over the stepped up Indian shelling on villages along the working boundary.

In their report sent to the UN head office, they held the Indian security forces responsible for the prolonged turbulent situation near the working boundary, they said.

These observers, they said, had also urged upon the UN head office to initiate a probe into the affairs and direct India to stop committing atrocities.

They said the Chenab Rangers had again foiled three more major Indian attempts of fencing in Chhumb, Sucheetgarh and Charwa sectors and beat back the enemy, destroying their two big defensive pillars.

The firing by Indian troops damaged eight more houses, three tractors and four tubewells in bordering villages in Chhumb, Joriyaan, Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Charwa, Harpal, Jammu, Akhnor, Oori, Bajragarhi and Shakargarh sectors.

EID: Shopping for Eid has gained momentum in the district. People showed no interest in shopping at the end of the first week of Ramazan following the US-led barbarism in Afghanistan. But now a great rush of people can be seen in shopping centres, markets and plazas.
