10 killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: Unidentified men shot dead 10 people, including a judge and six members of a village defence committee, in occupied Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.

The assailants ambushed the car of Judge Vijay Kumar Phoolat Tanaramore, killing him and three of his guards, police said. Gunmen on Tuesday raided Pancharai village, in Udhampur district, and attacked members of a committee set up to fight lawlessness.

The attackers, dressed in army uniforms, took away the committee members, killed them and escaped after taking their weapons.—dpa
