Shakeel spurs Rangers

KARACHI, Dec 5: Rangers CC defeated Saddar Town by 37 runs in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan cricket tournament at AKG Ground here Wednesday.

Batting first, Rangers CC were restricted to 137 for eight in their quota of 25 overs. Mohammad Shahzad (29), Zaid Mir (26), Javed Khan (23) and Sumair Shafaat (20 not out) were the main scorers.

Slow left-armer Iqbal Surti claimed three for 20 while off-spinner Siraj Khan chipped in with two for 25.

Saddar Town, in reply, were dismissed for exactly 100 in 22.1 overs with Mohammad Farooq making 24.

Leg-spinner Shakeel Anwar captured three for 22 to be adjudged Man-of-the-Match. Off-spinner Zeeshan Baig and leg-spinner Saeed Ahmed took two wickets apiece while conceding 14 and 26 runs respectively.
