By Our Staff Correspondent

FAISALABAD, Dec 5: The district council approved by-laws for running its business on Wednesday in its fourth session held at Al-Fateh Sports Complex here.

Naib Nazim Afzal Sahi presented the draft of by-laws in the house and a number of councillors spoke on the issue and presented various proposals. However, Mr Sahi prevailed on the members and by-laws were approved without any amendment.

District Nazim Zahid Nazir ensured them that strict action would be taken against the people staging vulgar plays in some cinema houses of the city.

He claimed that the district council has been making all possible efforts for providing basic amenities to the people and controlling law and order situation.

SSP Tasadduq Husain stressed upon the councillors to provide information and assist the police in combating crime.

He said through Rescue-15 service was being provided to the citizens round the clock. Under the new local government system, it was the duty of elected members to provide maximum cooperation to police for taking action against anti-social elements, he added.

He said efforts were being made to redress the complaints of the elected members. SHOs have also been directed to cooperate with them.
