GILGIT, Dec 5: A steering committee, headed by Northern Areas Chief Secretary Fazal Durrani, reviewed at a meeting on Monday the progress on various development projects of the Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP).

The committee observed that the KPP was successful and had secured tangible results by directly benefiting backward areas. About 98 per cent projects were said to have been completed in the region.

Deputy commissioners of the five districts of the Northern Areas briefed the committee about various development projects completed under the programme in their respective districts.

They highlighted the projects identified by the district advisory board for the current year.

In the Northern Areas, the major portion of the KPP funds is utilized on land development, irrigation and farm-to-market link roads.
