Hurricane knock by Aftab

KARACHI, Dec 4: Baqai Dolphins remained in contention for a berth in the semifinal, after mowing down Karachi Club by 142 runs in the Zultec Ramazan Invitational cricket tournament played Tuesday at the PCB Regional Academy ground.

Batting first after winning the toss, Dolphins posted the the highest score in the tournament so far, by hammering 214 for three in just 20 overs.

Aftab with Hassan Raza opening the innings gave their team a splendid start by putting on 136 runs in only 14 overs.

Aftab missed his second century when he holed out to long on scoring 98 runs in only 52 deliveries smashing 10 sixes and four boundaries, hitting four sixes in one over.

Hasan in contrast faced 57 balls for his 79, striking five sixes and four boundaries. Karachi Club were never in contention for victory after losing Faraz Ahmed and Aqeel Aziz in quick succession. With Atif Maqbool picking up (2-7) and Talha Khan giving away only 12 runs for his one wicket off four overs, Karachi Club were restricted to 72 for five, when their 20 stipulated overs expired.
