Balochistan Governor Amirul Mulk Mengal said this in a briefing during a high-level meeting held here on Monday.

The irrigation and power secretary, Abdul Salam Khan, informed the meeting that Rs272 million, out of the Rs2,332 million allocated in the budget, had been spent on different development projects.

So far, 142 development projects have been completed, while in the current financial year, 49 projects have been included in the annual development programme, which would cost Rs5,600 million.

The irrigation secretary said that under a drought programme, Rs1,200 million were being spent on the construction of 11 delay action dams in different areas of the province, and 15 more dams had been approved. Funds, however, had not been released for the projects yet, he said, adding that under the programme, 250 windmills would be set up in the province with a cost of Rs66 million.
