‘Every mosque in UK being monitored’

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 4: “After Sept 11, every Muslim organization and mosque in England is being monitored besides illogical propaganda against Muslims by the European print and electronic media.”

This was stated by the president of the Union of Muslim Organization (UMO), UK, Khwaja Muhammad Aslam, on Tuesday. He was speaking at a joint meeting of the Punjab University Academic Staff Association executive members and university teachers here. The UMO is a joint organization of Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and the Muslim community in the UK.

Mr Aslam said that England had recently passed a law that any Muslim could be arrested without any cause. This has developed hatred among Christians and Muslims living in Britain.

Mr Aslam said there were very limited eatables, water, medicines and tents available for around 1.5 million Afghans living in refugees camps in Bajawr Agency.

He said the refugees also had very limited number of quilts and blankets.

He also claimed that the Bristishers did not want that any relief goods or money from their country should go to the Muslims in distress.

PU’s faculty of chemical engineering dean Prof Dr Arif Butt and PUASA president Prof Dr Khwaja Haris Rasheed said it was religious, social and moral duty of every Muslim to help Muslims in Afghanistan. They condemned the attacks on Afghan Muslims by America and its allies.
