Five bitten by pye dogs

KHAIRPUR, Dec 3: Pye dogs bit five people in Manglo village, Gohar Taluka, on Monday.

The five who were bitten by the dogs are Ghulam Shabbir, Mahi Khan, Darya Khan, Khan Mohammad, and Ali Nawaz. All have been admitted at a local hospital.

THREE HURT IN CLASH: Three people were seriously injured in a clash between two groups of the Ghumra tribe on Sunday in Shahi Bazaar, Khairpur.

Some Ghumro tribesmen were busy shopping in the Shahi Bazaar when all of a sudden a dispute started. Soon firearms were taken out and shooting started which resulted in two men — Mehboob Ali Ghumro and Nawaz alias Hajo Ghumro — and a 10-year-old boy — Vishal Kumar — getting injured.

The boy is said to be seriously injured and has been admitted at the ICU of a hospital in Sukkur. The two injured men have been admitted at the Civil Hospital Khairpur and are being watched by the police.

CANAL ASSESSED: The district Nazim, Syeda Nafisa Shah, the chief engineer, Irrigation, Sukkur, M. Moosa Memon, and the superintendent engineer, Sukkur region, Abbas Ali Awan, along with the taluka and union council Nazims visited the Mirwah Canal.

Following the visit to the canal, a committee consisting of irrigation, district government and local union council officials was set up to submit a proposal regarding the improvement of the edges, pitches, footpath and road and suggesting a spot for the construction of a small bridge.
