Data on volunteers being collected

By Safdar Khan

GILGIT, Dec 2: Government has asked the national security agencies to keep an eye on the volunteers who have returned from Afghanistan, reliable sources said.

The sources said this vigilance was deemed necessary in view of the government’s apprehensions that the returning volunteers could instigate anti-government demonstrations or create a law and order situation.

The sources said help from influential persons had been sought for collecting information about the volunteers.

The agencies have been put on alert to arrest those wanted for their involvement in sectarian attacks who had fled to Afghanistan.

The guardians of the persons, who were either killed in the Afghan war or were missing, would also be interrogated the sources added.
