Reduction in IT fees demanded
GILGIT, Dec 2: Imamia Students’ Organization (ISO) has called upon the government to reduce the fees at the four information technology centres established in Northern Areas.
ISO Gilgit Division President Arif Hussain said the IT centres would charge Rs4,000 per month from each student, that was beyond the affordability of the poor.
He said the organization would resist all the bureaucratic hurdles in the formation of the Karakoram International University.
He called upon the federal ministers, Abbas Sarfraz Khan and Zubeda Jalal, to take cognizance of the matter and said the ISO would resist every move to turn the institutions into commercial centres.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba also demanded that the government should review the IT fees.
