KARACHI: 25 vehicles hijacked, boy dies in accident

KARACHI, Dec 2: Twenty-five vehicles — 10 cars and 15 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

The cars and motorcycles were hijacked/stolen in districts West, East, Central and South.

ROAD ACCIDENT: An unidentified teenaged boy died in a road accident in Federal B-Area on Sunday.

The police said that the unidentified boy was run over by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle escaped after the accident. The boy was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died.

KILLED: Unknown assailants shot a security guard of a private hospital to death in North Karachi on Sunday night. The police said that the security guard, Pordil Khan, was on duty outside Aziz Memorial Hospital where unknown assailants, riding on a motorcycle, fired on him. The security guard died on the spot.

The assailants also took away the security guard’s service gun with them, the police said.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. The police had not ascertained the motive behind the killing till our going to the press.

A young man was killed and his brother injured during a Jirga proceedings in Sultanabad on Sunday.

The police said that Taj Bareen, aged 25, and his cousin Iqbal, aged 20, were stabbed by their rivals at Rafiullah Dera in Sultanabad, New Haji Camp, where a Jirga meeting was in progress to resolve a dispute.

The police said that the three suspects, Sher Afzal, Gul Talib and the third man, who had not been identified, fled the scene after stabbing Taj and Iqbal.

Taj and Iqbal were rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced Taj dead on arrival. Iqbal was admitted to the hospital, the police added. The police said that Rafiullah Dera in Sultanabad was used for holding Jirgas to resolve disputes.

The police handed over Taj’s body to his father for burial.

The police had mounted a search for the suspects, and for the purpose three police parties had been constituted, the police said.
