Kidnapped student recovered

LARKANA, Dec 1: A kidnapped student who was released by the dacoits due to the pressure of Ratodero police returned home on Saturday.

Alauddin Halepoto, a student of SSC-I (ninth class), was kidnapped about 25 days ago from village Agham-2.

DSP Ratodero Ali Nawaz Lashari told newsmen that he received a lead about the kidnapped student after the arrest of one Mustoo Gopang and later arrested Ramazn Agham, Bakhshoo Jat and Mamno Gopang who were allegedly involved in the kidnapping.

Worried by the arrests the dacoits, who also lost hope of getting ransom due to the police pressure on the relatives of the kidnapped boy, released him, the DSP added.

The kidnapped boy said during his captivity he was forced to write a letter for ransom money of Rs500,000 to his relatives.

A motorcyclist came in the woods and took away the ransom chit, Halepoto said adding that same motorcyclist came back and told his associates that due to the pressure of the police, the relatives of the kidnapped boy were reluctant to pay ransom.

Halepoto said that after one-hour ride in the kutcha area he was left near village Ripri in Khairpur district from where he was brought to Larkana.

SUICIDE: A young boy Sono Khan Chandio on Saturday shot himself dead in his house in village Wassand Chandio in the jurisdiction of Qubo Saeed Khan police station.
