Taliban release journalist

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Dec 1: The Taliban have released Canadian freelance journalist on Saturday and handed him over to Canadian diplomats in Chaman, official sources said.

The Canadian journalist, Kent Hetchman, was missing for the past one week. He informed of his captivity in Spin Bolduk to his colleagues by sending them his business card.

The Canadian government had established contact with the Taliban through Pakistani officials after being informed about his alleged kidnapping. Two days’ negotiations led to the journalist’s release.
