FAISALABAD, Nov 30: Local religious organizations on Friday took out a rally under the umbrella of the Pak-Afghan Defence Council against the government’s Afghan policy.

Starting from the Jamaat-i-Islami’s local secretariat, the protest procession after passing through various city roads culminated at the Clock Tower intersection.

The processionists were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against military rulers and in favour of Taliban. They also shouted slogans against the US and its allied forces for perpetrating atrocities in Afghanistan.

Speakers at the rally termed the US attacks on Afghanistan an open war against Islam. They demanded that rulers should change the Afghan policy immediately for the cause of Islam.
