Two brothers among four killed

BAJAUR, Nov 29: Two brothers were killed when an armed man opened fire on them with his Kalashnikov in the main bazaar at Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, here on Thursday.

Abdur Rehman, 30, and Abdul Wahab, 32, were sitting in a Datsun pick-up at a bus stand in the Khar town when Bakht Zaman opened Kalashnikov fire, killing both the brothers on the spot.

The Bajaur levies personnel have arrested the culprit and recovered the weapon used in the murder.

Our Mardan correspondent adds: The residents of Mardan have expressed concern over the rising incidents of crime, including robberies and killings.

Two persons were killed, including one cases of suicide, in Mardan district in the last 24 hours.

There are reports of a gang taking away a motorcycle near Eidgah at Shamsi Road; tractor near Chamtar; and a man being robbed of Rs4,000 near the press club last night.

Also, cigarettes worth Rs150,000 from a godown of Pakistan Tobacco Company were stolen. At Choora area thieves took away parts and oil from three transformers, and electric cable worth Rs500,000.
