KARACHI, Nov 29: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has desired the that all elected representatives, especially Nazims of Zila, Taluka and Union Councils, should create awareness among the people of the significance of computerized NIC in their day-to-day work and also the importance of reliable demographic data for socio-economic development of the country.
During the governor’s visit to Larkana the Nazims of Larkana District had informed him that 100,000 forms from Larkana District had been collected by NADRA and that applicants were being charged Rs90 a NIC instead of Rs35.
The matter was taken up with NADRA’s regional headquarters, Sukkur, which replied through a letter of Nov 12 that NADRA representatives were charging only Rs35 a person, and not Rs90 as reported.—APP
