KARACHI, Nov 29: A mobile laboratory of the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency meant for monitoring smoke and other kinds air pollution has started operating in Karachi.

The laboratory would help control environmental pollution, especially in taking action against the smoke emitting vehicles, said Shamsul Haque Memon, secretary wildlife, forest and environment, while presiding over a meeting of SEPA here on Thursday.

He said that the laboratory had been acquired from the Pakistan Council for Scientific & Industrial Research under the Karachi Clean Air Project as the pollution in the city had increased manifold. The ambient air analyzers have also been acquired for combating pollution, he added.—PPI
