Clifton Gym triumph
KARACHI, Nov 28: Splendid bowling by Zeeshan Baig, Kashif and skipper Asif Rajar, enabled Clifton Gymkhana register their first success in the Sixth Danish Trophy Ramazan cricket tournament, after beating STR II CC by 44 Wednesday, at the KGA ground.
Batting first, Clifton Gymkhana reeled off 158 for 7 in their 20 allotted overs with Farhan (38), left-handed Rizwan Ehsan (34) and Zafar Iqbal (30).
With only 10 fieldsmen, STR II did well to restrict Clifton Gymkhana, as Masood Ahmed bagged 3/24.
Chasing 159 for victory, STR II were doing well at 62 for 2, but their later order batsmen crumbled against Kashif and Zeeshan Baig (3-11) apiece and Asif Rajar (3-31).
