GUJRAT, Nov 28: A circus close to the Line School System, Lalamusa, and a mosque is strongly objected by parents of the students and the prayer leader, it is learnt.

According to rules and regulations, no circus or theatre could be staged nearby a hospital, a school or a mosque. But the Lahore-based circus has violated all rules and regulations under the administration’s nose. Parents are of the view that their children spend most of their time at the circus, wasting their much precious time. Those who attend classes could not devote their time on studies attentively in the presence of high volume music, they alleged.

Similarly, the prayer leader of a nearby mosque has repeatedly requested the circus management to decrease the music volume, especially at the time of prayers and azan, but to no avail.

They have urged the district administration to shift the circus to some other place so that they could heave a sigh of relief.

REARRESTED: A fugitive, who escaped from the judicial lock-up of a local court a week ago, was rearrested on Wednesday from his hideout in Sukheki, Hafizabad.

A Gujrat district police spokesman said the Kunjah police had arrested dacoit Fakhar Hussain who escaped from the court of an area magistrate.

DIES: An under-trial died on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest in the district jail.

Jail sources said that Zafar Iqbal was a drug-addict.
