VEHARI, Nov 28: The Vehari District Council approved its Rs1177.9 million tax-free budget for the fiscal 2001-2002 on Wednesday.
Naib Nazim Syed Sajid Mehdi Shah presided over the budget meeting held at the District Council hall. District Nazim Mumtaz Khan Khichi presented budget.
Giving details, the Nazim said the Punjab government would provide Rs653 million for the salaries of district government employees and Rs1177.6 million for expenditure.
He said that Rs2 million each would be spent on the development projects of every union council in the district. He said Rs30.15 million would be spent for roads repairs, Rs9.2 million on education department, Rs28 million on health department.
Three dialysis units would be installed in THQ Burewala, DHQ Vehari and THQ Mailsi hospitals for kidney patients.
The Nazim said Rs4 million would be spent on tree plantation in the district, Rs7.5 million for the repair of various government buildings, Rs2.5 million on computer training of government employees.
A sum of Rs13 million has been earmarked for the provision of electricity supply to various rural area, Rs10 million for union councils citizen community board, Rs4.2 million to furnish and mechanize unit of the District Council hall.
He said Rs23.808 million would be spent on the ongoing development schemes.
