LAHORE, Nov 28: An unidentified man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Tibbi City on Wednesday.

The man, about 30, was lying dead on the stairs of a building near Tarranum cinema.

His body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.

Sources in the mortuary said the body had no visible injury mark and it seemed that he might have been poisoned.

BOMB HOAX: A bomb hoax created panic in the building of the Sui Northern Gas on Kashmir Road.

A telephone operator received a call at around 9am that a bomb had been planted in the office. Panic gripped the premises and the building was evacuated.

Police, civil defence and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the scene and took some two hours to scan the building. Later, they reported that no explosive was planted.

INJURED: Two men shot at and injured one Shrafat at the cycle stand of the Directorate of Education, Hall Road.

Javed told Dawn that he along with his cousin, Shrafat, had come from Sheikhupura for the verification of his documents. When they were coming out of the office building, two gunmen opened fire on them. Shrafat sustained bullet injuries while Javed escaped narrowly.

The injured was taken to the Mayo Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Shrafat was released from jail a few days ago.
