LAHORE, Nov 27: Six goals including a hat trick by pivot Malik Asif Yar Tiwana enabled AAG to earn a facile 10-6 win against Guard Rice in the Ali Akbar group polo tournament at the Lahore Club Tuesday.
In another match of the day, Cherat Cement outclassed Power Soft 7 to one and a half goals.
In the first match Guard Rice were playing with an advantage of two goals on the handicap.
Besides Tiwana the other scorers for the AAG were Mohsin Khosa (2) and Shahid Iqbal and Taimur Mawaz Khan who chipped in with one goal each.
For the losing side, Maula Bakhsh contributed three goals while Shahzad Aziz added one.
Shahzad Aziz who had scored two goals in the first chukker, completed his hat trick in the second by scoring three quick goals. That gave his team a commanding lead of 6-3 at the end of the second chukker. He scored his final sixth goal in the fourth chukker.
Guard Rice: Taimur Malik -2, Rashid Baig 0, Maula Bakhsh 2, Shehzad Aziz 0.
In the second match, Agha Murtaza, Faaiz Rahim Khan and Shah Qubilai Alam shared six goals equally while Feroze Gulzar added one goal to help Cherat Cement beat PowerSoft by big margin of 7-1 1/2 goals. The losing side could score only one goal through Husain Iftikhar in third chukker. Half goal was their handicap.
