KARACHI, Nov 27: Eleven vehicles — six cars and five motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday, police said.

The cars were hijacked in Gizri, Tipu Sultan, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Ferozabad, Haideri and Gulzar-i-Hijri.

Three motorcycles were hijacked in Arambagh, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Buffer Zone. Two others were stolen in Nabi Bux and Brigade.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road accident just before Iftar on Tuesday.

Police said Mohammed Atiq, aged 33, was on his way home on his motorcycle just before Iftar when he was hit by a bus of route (17-J) in Landhi No 5. The bus was travelling at high speed. Police said Atiq died on the spot. The bus driver sped away.

The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

KILLED: Unidentified assailant killed a man in Surjani Town.

Police said Haji Abdul Hakim, aged 45, was hit by a blunt weapon on his head in his house at the Afghan Camp in Surjani some time on late Monday night.

He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

DIE OF BURNS: A young girl and a man died of burns in the city.

Police said Jamshed Ali, aged 60, who suffered burns a few days back in Baldia Town died in Civil Hospital.

A young girl, Uzma, aged 20, died of burns in Civil Hospital. She suffered burns a few days back while cooking in her house in Saeedabad.
