WASHINGTON, Nov 27: Several Northern Alliance fighters are missing and feared dead following airstrikes by their US allies on Kunduz this weekend, Newsweek reported on its website late on Monday.
Though the precise number of casualties has not yet been determined, alliance officials told the newsweekly that several tank crews — or at least 20 people — were missing and feared dead and six people were confirmed wounded.
Newsweek also cited unconfirmed reports from residents of Kunduz stating that as many as 70 civilians had been killed in the bombing.—AFP
