All-round show by Tariq in vain

KARACHI, Nov 26: A superb all-round performance by Tariq Rasheed proved futile as A.O.CC went down by two wickets to Sindh Police in the 16th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan cricket festival at KG Ground here Monday.

Tariq struck seven fours and four sixes during his 91 off 61 balls that helped A.O.CC score 204 for three in their 25 overs. Ozaifa Mustafa contributed 63 off 56 balls (one four) before retiring.

Sindh Police, in reply, reached their target by making 205 for eight off the second last delivery of the match. Rashid Ali led the way with 60 off 43 balls. His innings was laced with five hits to the fence.

Tariq Rasheed, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match, shone with ball with excellent figures of three for 25 with his off-spinners.

A.O.CC 204-3 in 25 overs (Tariq Rasheed 91, Ozaifa Mustafa 63 retired out; Mohammad Salman 24 not out; Khalid Butt 2-37);

SINDH POLICE 205-8 in 24.5 overs (Rashid Ali 60, Kamran Hussain 33, Khalid Butt 27 not out, Akif Alvi 23; Tariq Rasheed 3-25, Aamir Rizwan 2-31).
