Concern over fate of volunteers voiced
BAJAUR, Nov 26: Former Jihadi commanders of Kunar and Laghman provinces of Afghanistan have expressed concern over the fate of thousands of tribal volunteers and workers of Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariah Muhammadi from Pakistan in Kunduz.
Speaking at a Press conference here on Monday, the former commanders called upon the Northern Alliance’s president Burhanuddin Rabbani and his interior minister Younas Qanooni to provide a safe passage to the Pakistani Jihadis stranded in Kunduz on humanitarian grounds.
They said Pakistan was a second home to Afghans and its people had stood by Afghans in difficult times. That is why Pakistan had hosted millions of Afghan refugees for the last 23 years.
They asked the Northern Alliance’s leaders to take personal interest in the release of the besieged Pakistanis and provide them a safe passage to come back to their country.
Maulvi Hashim, Maulvi Rehmat Khan, Abdur Rehman, Khanzad Gul, Abdul Jabbar Safi and Jalal Khan briefed the newsmen at the Press conference.
