KARACHI, Nov 26: The Provincial Selection Board-I, which met here under the chairmanship of Governor Muhammedmian Soomro in the Governor’s House, recommended one officer of the 31 proposed by the Education Department for promotion.
The board considered 126 officers of the education department for promotion to BS-20. Of 108 male and female officers of the government cadre, 31 were proposed by the department for promotion.
Speaking at the meeting, the governor said that all officers of the Sindh government should complete the ACRs on time so that they could be considered for promotion in a timely and regular manner.
He issued strict instructions to the counter-signing officers to complete their work expeditiously.
In respect of promotions in the Education Department, the governor said that in future the promotion would be strictly based on officers performance and its evaluation by their superiors.
He said the performance of an officer would be judged in relation to the input and relative output of certain educational institution. It shall be quantified and determined as to how many A-graders, for instance, who get admission to a certain college/school retain their grades when they pass out.
It was decided that the Board would meet regularly after every three months so as to streamline the promotions in various of the Sindh government departments.—PPI/APP
