MINGORA, Nov 25: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Saidu Sharif, Swat, has cancelled the results of 24 students, who were caught using unfair means during the matric supplementary examination 2001, and penalized 12 others for submitting fake documents with their examination forms.

These were students caught trying to impersonate other candidates during inspection at the examination centres in October.

Taking notice of the growing trend towards the use of unfair means in the examinations, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education chairman, Brig (retd) Abdul Ghafoor Khan, had constituted a committee to check the practice.

The cases were decided on Friday, said a press release.

GRID STATIONS: Peshawar Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Brig Khalid Khan has said that grid stations would be constructed in different parts of the Malakand division to overcome the problems of low voltage and loadshedding.

Speaking to the district and Tehsil Nazims and Naib Nazims of the division in Saidu Sharif, he said the electricity schemes would be completed gradually.

Swat District Nazim Dr Mehboobur Rehman said most of the villages in his district were facing low voltage and loadshedding.

POLITICIANS CRITICIZED: The convener of Al-Fatah, Malakand division, Muhammad Ibrar, here on Sunday criticized the politicians’ demand for the restoration of democracy in the country, saying that the present crises were the result of their wrong policies.

Referring to a statement of the former interior minister Nasirullah Khan Babar about the Saudi and UAE governments, Ibrar said, “we should appreciate the rulers of the Arab countries, who are serving their people with devotion.”

Ibrar said that democracy should be restored for the protection of people’s rights.
