PPP leader calls for talks with India

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 25: Pakistan People’s Party welcomes the Bonn conference on Afghanistan and hopes that it will bring a positive solution to the war-ravaged country.

This was stated by former federal minister Nawab Yousuf Talpur here on Sunday. In a statement, the member of the central executive committee of the party, said the PPP supported all moves which could bring permanent peace to Afghanistan. In this regard the party had a clear stand that only a broad-based government representing all ethnic communities could be the solution, he added.

He hoped that a possible meeting between President Musharraf and Vajpayee on the sidelines of Saarc summit could promote the process of negotiations. He recalled that it was the PPP government which initiated the dialogue process, which unfortunately could not be continued due to the change of government.
