YMCA U-18 camp from Tuesday

KARACHI, Nov 24: The 39th YMCA Under-18 hockey coaching camp starts on Nov 27 (Tuesday) at 2.30pm, here at the YMCA Ground.

Camp commandant Shabih Abbas announced Saturday an 11-member panel of coaches which will be headed by former Pakistan captain Islahuddin Siddiqui. Other coaches are Qamar Riaz, Qayamuddin Siddiqui, Salim Usmani, Rashid Ali Khan, Shamus-uz-Zaman, Farooq Khan, Kamran Akhtar, Rais Akhtar, Shakir Ali and Tariq Aziz.

Arshad Saleem will be the incharge of the physical training and Shahanshah Hussain is the coordinator.

Invitations have been sent to almost all the nationalised and government schools to send their two promising and talented under-18 youngsters for about two hours daily training and coaching.

There will be no entry for the two-week camp annually set up by the YMCA to contribute its share in the promotion of hockey. The interested students and players are required to report Monday at 3.00pm, to the camp commandant for registration.
