Six injured in tribal clash

DADU, Nov 24: Six persons, including a woman, were injured in an armed clash between two groups of Panhwar tribesmen over some domestic problem in village Tandan Panhwar, some 20km from Johi town on Saturday.

Gulan, Ismail, Ghulam Nabi, Ghulam Rasool and Ms Jadal received bullet wounds. The injured were admitted to taluka hospital Johi in a critical condition. Johi town police registered an FIR against 8 persons of both groups and arrested two of them.

HIJACKED: Three unidentified armed persons snatched a motorcycle (No. 2385) from a Wapda lineman Zulfiqar Ali at Karachi Wah when he was on his way to Sikandar Farm near Kotri town on Saturday.

DEMO: The primary and secondary teachers of taluka Khairpur Nathan Shah on Saturday boycotted their classes and staged a demo in front of local press club to protest against the test proposed for their increments. The demonstrators carried banners and placards and were raising slogans against secretary education, Sindh.

HUNGER STRIKE: Over 100 activists of JSQM and JSSF staged a demo in front of Dadu press club on Saturday to protest against the imprisonment of their party chief Basheer Khan Qureshi, his deputy Dr Niaz Kalani, JSSF president Kehar Ansari and proposal for inclusion of 17 Dehs of Ghotki district in Punjab. Later, they observed a token hunger strike.

SUICIDE: A man, Wahid Bux Otho (28), committed suicide by self-immolation over some domestic problem in Bodalo Bahar Mohalla of Sehwan Sharif late on Friday.

Otho was jobless. He sprinkled kerosene oil on his body and set himself ablaze. His body was completely burnt.

HEPATITIS-B: Three boys died of Hepatitis-B in village Meenhoon Khan Bhand in a space of six days. Ayaz Ali, 10, son of Muhammad Parial Bhand died on Friday. Two other boys, Khan Bhand, 5, and Abdullah Bhand, 6, died of the same disease in the same village.
