Action against drug dealers demanded

MARDAN, Nov 23: A prominent lawyer of district courts Mardan was threatened by the drug peddlers of dire consequences, when he was on his way back to home near Mayar village the other day.

Himayatullah Mayar advocate, who is a prominent lawyer of the district court Mardan, was stopped by some drug peddlers near his village on gun-point and was warned against dire consequences that if he involves himself in their affairs.

The drug traffickers were identified as three brothers Noor Taj, Bakht Taj and Gul Taj, who were running a drug den in Mayar village and were alleged to be the dreaded outlaws of the area and one of their brothers, Sartaj, was in jail.

But they had to close down their business and to take refuge on the out skirts of the village, as the newly transferred SSP, started crackdown on drug peddlers.

He criticized the attitude of the police and said that despite the tall claims of the police so far no proper action has been taken against the social evils of the area.

The advocate, warned that if any harm was made to him by these drug peddlers he will register an FIR against the senior police officials of the area.
