KARACHI, Nov 23: A bomb explosion occurred near the PIDC House on Friday night which created panic in the area. However, no loss of life or damage to property was reported.

Witnesses said the bomb went off with a bang at the backside of the incomplete structure of Hayat Regency building. The bomb was planted in a pushcart. The explosion was heard far away.

Panic gripped the locality after the explosion. Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

On late Thursday night, two bomb explosions occurred near a franchise fast food restaurant in Clifton. In that incident too, no injury to anyone or any damage to property was reported, police said.

The DIG Karachi, Tariq Jamil, said the two explosions took place within the space of a few minutes. The bomb disposal squad was of the view that it was something like firecrackers as no evidence of bomb was found at the place of incident.
