KARACHI: 14 more vehicles taken away

KARACHI, Nov 21: At least 14 vehicles — eight cars and six motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in different parts of the city on Wednesday, police said.

The cars included: ACV-485 in Clifton, ACM-588 in Boat Basin, ABY-844 in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, ACV-397 Soldier Bazar, ACZ-038 Bahadurabad, CK-1818 New Karachi, KH-5983 Airport, KH-6860 Garden.

The motorcycles are: KCT-3447 at Airport, KCT-5730 in Buffer Zone, KAR-2045 in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, KAV-0363 Rizvia Society, KAR-4198 Korangi Industrial Area and (KAP-3102) Arambagh.

RECOVERY: The Anti-Car Lifting Cell on Wednesday recovered 12 cars and two motorcycles in Badin, Larkana and Balochistan, which were taken away from Karachi.

A police spokesman said various teams had been formed on the directives of city police chief Tariq Jamil to gear up the recovery campaign of the stolen vehicles.

A team of the ACLC arrested Altaf Soomro and Mumtaz Memon in Larkana and recovered three stolen cars (R-5496, AA-5309, TB- 5849) from their possession.

Another team raided the spotted places in Dera Murad Jamali, Quetta, and recovered two cars (ADK-742, KH-6605). Two motorcycles (KAP-5180 and KCT-7629) were also recovered in Quetta.

An ACLC party in Badin arrested Ghulam Murtaza and Ashiq Rajput following the recovery of a car (AAX-364) from their possession. Another suspect, Mohammad Ali, was arrested and a car (AAA-476) was recovered from his possession. The police arrested Mohammad Aslam and recovered a Suzuki (CD-5148).

Four more cars (AA-9281, ABP-160, ABP-527 and a car with tampered registration number) were recovered in Badin by the police following the arrest of Saeed Khan Magsi, Nazakat Ali and Mohammad Ali.
