Matrimonial dispute leaves 12 injured

DADU, Nov 18: Twelve people were wounded in a clash between two groups of the Solangi tribe over a matrimonial dispute in the Mitho Khan Solangi village near the Thrari Mohabbat town on Sunday.

Firearm, axes and clubs were used in the clash during which Ramzan, Niaz, Siddique, Shahnawaz, Allah Jurio, Ghulam Mustafa, Parial, Mashooq, Imdad, Ali Khan, Deedar and an unidentified man were injured.

The injured were admitted to the Thrari Mohabbat Health Centre, where they were stated to be in a critical condition.

The Thrari Mohabbat police registered two FIRs against 19 people from both groups and arrested five of them.

DEMO HELD: A large number of workers of the Sindh People’s Students Federation and the People’s Hari Committee staged a demonstration in front of the Dadu Press Club on Sunday to protest against the continued imprisonment of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto’s husband, Asif Ali Zardari, and other PPP leaders.

Demonstrators, led by SPSF district president Gul Hassan Qambrani and PHC district president Abdul Mutalib Panhwar, were raised slogans against the military government.

ACCIDENT: A passenger, Sultan-ul-Haq Pathan (40), was killed on the spot and 17 others were injured in an accident when a Swat-bound coach (P-0399) overturned on the Super Highway near Looni Kot the other day.

The driver escaped immediately. Ten of the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad while the rest were taken to the Jamshoro hospital.

KILLED: A boy, Abdul Rauf (7), son of Abdul Fatah Lashari, was crushed to death under the wheels of an oil tanker on the Indus Highway, near Jamshoro town, the other day.

The driver fled immediately.

The Jamshoro police registered an FIR against the unidentified driver and impounded the tanker.
