SUKKUR, Nov 18: Governor Sindh Muhammad Mian Soomro gave a firm assurance to the Nazims of Sukkur and Ghotki that 17 Dehs of Daharki would not be handed over to Punjab. He gave this assurance to District Nazim Sukkur Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and District Nazim Ghotki Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar when they met the latter at the Governor House in Karachi and raised the matter with him.

Meanwhile, a three member survey committee headed by Director Survey and Record, Muhammad Bachal Bhayo, were called to Karachi to discuss the matter with the officials of Sindh Board of Revenue.

After discussing and scrutinizing the record the committee would prepare a report and submit it to the Sindh Governor.

When this correspondent contacted DCO Ghotki, Mr. Israr Ahmed Shaikh, he said: “We have received nothing in black and white from the Punjab government about inclusion of the 17 Dehs into Rahimyar Khan.

He said according to his knowledge, the administration of Rahimyar Khan had surveyed the area which created the doubt among the people that these Dehs of Daharki were being merged into Rahimyar Khan.

According to him, a similar exercise was carried out in the past when Machka circle was excluded from Sindh.

KIDNAPPED: Munawwar Rajput, the son of a transporter of Sukkur, Hamid Rajput, was kidnapped by armed dacoits from the limits of the Abad Police station on Friday night.

FIVE HELD: On the orders of the Sindh High Court, Sukkur, the Ahmedpur police arrested five accused allegedly involved in the killing of Abdul Ghafoor Metlo and Rubina Metlo in Khuda Bux Metlo village.
