HYDERABAD, Nov 18: Hyderabad district Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has said despite financial constraints, the government was doing its best to provide basic facilities to people and resolve the problems of women.
He was talking to women councillors of Hyderabad District Council here on Saturday.
He said women had aptitude and ability to work for the development of the country and they had been striving in this regard since the inception of Pakistan.
He expressed hope the women councillors of the district would put in as much efforts as their male counterparts for the development of Hyderabad City as well as the district.
He said Rani Bagh which was the identity of this historic city would be renovated and a separate park would be constructed for women.
He urged the women councillors to organize Meena Bazaar during the holy month of Ramazan.
He said proper planning would be done to provide basic facilities to the people.
He said no new school or hospital would be established in Hyderabad unless the existing schools and hospitals were fully utilized and made functional.
He advised the women councillors to visit schools and hospitals and identify the bottlenecks especially the absence of doctors and teachers.
The Nazim assured the women councillors their regular meetings would be held which would be attended by the EDOs of the concerned departments to resolve the problems of the women.
Earlier, Dr Rafiquzzaman presided over the convocation of City School, Jinnah campus, Qasimabad.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the efforts of those educational institutions which were imparting quality education must be acknowledged.
He congratulated the students who had cleared their O level examination and distributed certificates among them.
