KARACHI: Transporters’ threat

Published November 19, 2001

KARACHI, Nov 18: Inter-city bus operators announced on Sunday that they would observe strike on Nov 25 on the Sindh-Balochistan inter-city long route to protest against what they said a highly uncalled-for attitude of the city’s Town Nazims.

The announcement was made at a meeting of 56 transporters held under the chairmanship of Ismail Mohammed Hasani.

According to a press release, the meeting expressed its concern over the role of Town Nazims, particularly the Saddar Town Nazim, in “unlawful acts.”

The meeting alleged that the Saddar Town Nazim had flouted court orders.

They said that there would be a complete wheeljam strike.
