Journalist freed

PESHAWAR, Nov 17: Japanese freelance journalist Daigen Yanagida arrested by the Taliban on October 22 was received by Japanese ambassador Sadkai Nemata at the Torkham border at 5.20pm on Saturday.

The Taliban arrested the Japanese journalist in Kunar province for suspicion of spying and kept him at Jalalabad.

When the opposition forces entered Nangarhar province some four days back, the Taliban militia released 136 prisoners, including the Japanese journalist, from central jail Jalalabad.
