Nine injured in crossfire

VEHARI, Nov 17: Nine people, including two women, sustained injuries in a crossfire between two rival groups in Chak 90/WB near Mailsi on Saturday.

Two families had a dispute over the possession of a piece of land. They had a reconciliation meeting during which tempers flared. Both the groups opened fire on each other as a result of which Khadija Bibi, Ruqayya Bibi, Abdus Salam, Dilawar, Salim, Ramzan, Rustam, Abid and Ibrhaim sustained injuries.

The injured people have been admitted to the Mailsi THQ hospital. Police are investigating.
