SIALKOT, Nov 17: A landlord with the help of his two accomplices shot dead his daughter, her lover and his companion late Friday night in Muzaffarpur village, Uggoki.
Muhammad Ashiq’s daughter ‘T’ had eloped with her neighbour Naeem Ahmad some time ago. On their return, the village panchaiyat was trying to patch up the matter between two families when Ashiq along with his companions Amjad and Shabbir opened fire, killing his daughter, her lover Muhammad Naeem and his companion Rashid instantly. Later, the accused escaped while firing in the air.
SACKED: SSP Muhammad Tahir on Saturday dismissed from service an ASI and seven constables on the charges of corruption and negligence of duty.
Those sacked are ASI Muhammad Aslam and constables Waris Ali, Iftikhar Ahmad, Muhammad Asif, Sabir Hussain, Khalid, Riaz and Faisal Tehseen.
The SSP also suspended SI Riaz Ahmad and three constables — Amin Masih, Younus Masih and Waris — of the Cantonment police due to the negligence of duty.
BOMB DEFUSED: An Indian-made time device weighing 1.5 kg was defused in Looni village of the Sialkot working boundary’s Bajwat sector early Saturday morning.
Official sources said the bomb was planted in the fields by unknown terrorists, adding that farmers might be their target.
Some villagers found the bomb and informed the Chenab Rangers who summoned the bomb disposal squad from Sialkot to defuse it, they added.
INDIAN FIRING: The relentless firing by Indian troops on Saturday ruined nine more houses and destroyed standing paddy crops besides killing two goats and a buffalo in villages near the Sialkot working boundary.
Official sources said the Indian security forces continued firing on bordering villages in working boundary’s Chhumb, Joriyaan, Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Bajra Garhi, Harpal, Charwa, Jammu, Akhnor, Oori, Zafarwal and Shakargarh sectors.
They claimed the Chenab Rangers had foiled two more Indian attempts of fencing in Chhumb and Jammu sectors near the working boundary, causing a heavy defensive loss to the enemy.
