Need for preserving forests stressed

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 17: Kahlid Sultan, provincial government’s secretary of forest, has said that time is running out and now we had to save the forests at all costs.

This he said while presiding over the concluding session of a two-day workshop organized by the SUNGI Development Foundation and Sarhad Awami Forestry Ittehad at a local hotel.

The basic theme of the workshop was “forest legislation, joint forest management and forestry sector reforms in NWFP. Participants of the workshop critically analyzed the proposed NWFP Forest Ordinance with special reference to joint forest management.

DATE EXTENDED: The newly established Hazara University at Dhodial has notified that the date for the submission of forms and interview has been extended to Nov 30.
