HYDERABAD, Nov 16: The provincial president of Tahrik-i-Jafria Pakistan (TJP) Allama Syed Shabeeh-ur-Raza Zaidi Al-Hussaini has called upon the international community to prevail upon the Northern Alliance to immediately end atrocities against the innocent people of Afghanistan and initiate the process for the appointment of a broad based government to restore peace in the war-torn country.

He was speaking at a news conference at the Gulshah Imam Bargah, Gari Khata, here on Friday.

Allama Zaidi also urged the international community to keep itself away from the conspiracy to divide Afghanistan and let the people of that country decide their fate.

He was of the opinion Pakistan could play an important role in evolving a democratic government in Afghanistan.

He feared that due to the Afghanistan situation, terrorism and sectarianism could raise their head again in Pakistan as according to reports some people fleeing Afghanistan were trying to take refuge in Pakistan.

He urged the government to tighten security at the Pak-Afghan border and ensure that no terrorist was allowed to enter Pakistan.

The TJP leader appreciated the role of Musharraf government against international terrorism but regretted it had failed to control religious terrorism in the country.

He called upon the government to smash the terrorist network in the country.

He condemned the murderous attack on chief medical officer, central jail Hyderabad, Dr Ghulam Ali Shaikh, and demanded the persons nominated in the FIR including Kehar Ansari, president of Jeay Sindh Students Federation, should be arrested.

He also demanded during Ramazan prices of consumer goods should be controlled, security at mosques and Imambargahs should be beefed up and special programmes should be telecast and broadcast on TV and radio on Ramazan 21 to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (R.A).

Expressing solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, Allama Zaidi announced throughout Sindh processions and meetings would be held on Jumma-tul-Wida to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and for the liberation of Bait-ul-Muqaddas.

He also demanded the 86 sacked employees of the OGDC Kunar plant, Tando Jam, should be reinstated.

He condemned the murder of Syed Hassan Abidi in Karachi. He demanded immediate arrest of the murderers failing which, he said, the TJP reserved the right to protest.
