US keen on mly ties with India, says envoy

NEW DELHI, Nov 16: The United States wants to boost military cooperation, including arms sales, with India, the US ambassador here said on Friday.

US ambassador to India Robert D. Blackwill said the United States was “quite excited about intensifying military-to-military cooperation” with India.

He was speaking by telephone from Honululu where he was discussing the matter with senior US military officers.

Blackwill said these moves had no connection with the US-led military campaign in Afghanistan.

“These ideas have nothing to do with a third party.”—AFP
