KG cricket from first Ramazan

KARACHI, Nov 15: The 16th edition of Karachi Gymkhana (KG) Ramzan Cricket Tournament carrying a total purse of Rs 335,000 will be held at KG Ground from first Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.

The winning team of the tournament will be richer by Rs 170,000 with runner-up taking home Rs 85,000 and losing semi finalist pocketing Rs 10,000 each.

Sixteen clubs including five departmental teams will be featuring in the event which will be held under the cricket committee of KG.

Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) will be defending its title in the tournament, organizer told newsmen at press briefing Thursday.

Other departmental teams included Sui Southern Gas Company, Sindh Police, Baqai Dolphins and Dewan Mushtaq CC.

Other club teams taking part in the event included Paragon CC, Karachi Club, Aftab Memorial CC, Landhi Friends, Tapal CC, Muhammad Hussain CC, Malir Gymkhana, Ideal CC, Airport Gymkhana, A.O.CC, KG Whites and KG Blues.

Apart from other prizes man- -of-the-match award Rs 1000 for 27 matches, best batsman, best bowler, best wicket-keeper, best fielder awards of Rs 5000 each will be given at the end of the tournament.

Man of the tournament will get Rs 10,000 while hit a board awards will get Rs 3500.—APP
