HYDERABAD, Nov 15: Isra University Hospital organized one-day workshop on complete knee replacement here on Thursday.

The seminar was attended by leading orthopaedic surgeons from Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gulzar Saeed, assistant professor orthopaedic surgery at Isra University hospital, said joints replacement had become common procedure for painful disabling joints that no longer respond to non-surgical treatment.

He said these days orthopaedic surgeons were better trained and equipped to replace joints with excellent rate of success.

Dr Abdul Ghani Kazi, director of Isra University Hospital, said that on every Monday free joint pain clinic was held by Dr Gulzar in Isra University Welfare Hospital where intra articular injections were given free of charge to poor patients.

SU: The vice chancellor, University of Sindh, Mr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has stressed upon the university students to utilize their every minute in the pursuit of knowledge and co- curricular activities.

He was speaking as chief guest at the students show organized by the department of sociology of the university in collaboration with Radio Pakistan Hyderabad here on Thursday.

The chairperson, department of sociology, University of Sindh, Prof Tanveer Junejo said that her department was providing opportunities to the students to develop confidence for competition in practical life.

Mr Siddiqui, Prof Ferozuddin Kazi, and Prof Iqbal Ahmed Qureshi distributed commendatory certificates among the students, Miss Raheela, Javed Ahmed, Ikramullah Nizamani, Aftab Hussain Soomro, Deedar Hussain, Qamaruddin Junejo and Miss Nasreen.

INTERNSHIP: The director, Institute of Business Administration, has announced that the examination of business internship (evaluation and viva-voce) of second year MBA evening programme sixth semester 2000 would be held on Saturday November 17 at nine am in the office of the director, the IBA, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
