FAISALABAD, Nov 14: A landlord and his driver were gunned down over an old enmity in Chak 265-RB on Wednesday.
Khalid Saeed along with his driver, Javed Iqbal, was on his way home by his car (FDH-12). The car was intercepted by four gunmen belonging to the rivals of Khalid near Chak 265-RB. They opened fire on Khalid and his driver killing them on the spot.
Police have registered a case against Iftikhar, Zahid, Shahzad and Intisar on the report of Muhammad Tufail, the father of Khalid. However, no arrest has so far been made.
PARENTS’ DAY: University of Agriculture vice-chancellor Prof Dr Riaz Husain Qureshi has said the agricultural education should be imparted to students of schools and colleges so that dream of green revolution could be materialized.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of the parents’ day of the Divisional Public School here on Wednesday, he urged the federal government to make arrangements in this regard.
The students should be taught agriculture along with biology, mathematics and computer sciences. The dream of achieving self-sufficiency could only be achieved by developing agriculture sector which was the backbone of the country’s economy, he said.
